About Me

An alumnus of Locarno Open Doors and SGIFF's Southeast Asian Film Lab, Ananth Subramaniam is a Malaysian based writer & director. He hold a MA Filmmaking from Kingston University London and Bsc(Hons) in Architecture from Taylor’s University Malaysia.

Liar Land, his most recent short film, premiered at the Locarno Film Festival '20 and won the Special Mention prize. The film was also shown at the Sydney Lift-Off Film Festival. His previous short, Colourless, won Best Picture and Best Director at the BMW Shorties 2018. As a writer/director in the South East Asian TV and Digital advertising sector, his portfolio includes Air Asia, Netflix, Tesco, Dominos, Nestle and Kimberly - Clark. He is currently developing his first feature project.
